BT Global Service continues to make acquisitions “on a selective basis” says exec (UK)

BT Global Services is still open to the possibility of making acquisitions in order to expand its portfolio, Fran§ois Barrault, CEO of BT’s IT services division, said. A media report further quoted that Barrault saying Global Services will continue to make acquisitions “on a selective basis.” The report said that the executive declined to name any specific targets. By selective, he explained that he isn’t necessarily interested in companies going cheap, but companies that can add to what Global Services can offer. “We are not in a rush, we need to make sure what we do benefits our customers,” he further added.

The companies have the combined assets of €9.7 million, the company acquired Stemmer and SND which together comprise the enterprise IT services segment of Frankfurt-listed net AG. Global Services bought US-based voice application platform developer Ribbit, for $105 million in cash. Barrault’s comments as when BT appointed Royston Hoggarth, currently managing director of corporate financial advisory firm Strategic Capital Associates, as U.K. CEO of Global Services.
