Mascom Wireless, Botswana has introduced 3G and 3.5G services, after its launch of EDGE services in the country last year.
According to the company’s CMO, Dzene Makhwade-Seboni, it has invested BWP50 million (USD7.72 million) fro upgradation of the network for the service, which will initially be available in the greater Gaborone area.
COO, Richard Luz, reportedly said that the telco will expand the network to Francistown in the next few months before extending the service to other urban areas.
