Bharti Airtel, India, seeing a low response for Apple iPhone du to it’s high pricing in the country, has led Airtel to tie – up with VISA for the introduction of finance scheme to let the subscribers buy the high – priced iPhone.
According to the tie – up, Airtel will be offering financing options for all the VISA cardholders of ICICI, HDFC, SBI and Citibank.
The subscribers will be enjoying an easy monthly installment scheme with a varying tenure between 3 – 12 months.
“Our partnership with VISA will provide a new opportunity for consumers who aspire to own the 3G iPhone…we are confident that the initiative will further widen the market for the product in India,” Bharti Airtel Chief Marketing Officer (Mobile services) Sanjay Gupta said.
Vodafone on the other hand, seeing it’s subscribers incapable of buying the Apple iPhone priced at Rs.31,000 (8GB) and Rs. 36,000 (16GB), has tied – up with three private banks, ICICI, Barclays and Axis, for financing scheme for it’s subscribers.
The offer will be a two monthly payment schemes of six months and 12 months respectively to Vodafone subscribers.
