RURA fines MTN Rwanda USD130,000 for poor network services (Rwanda)
Rwanda’s regulatory body, RURA, fines MTN Rwanda for poor network services. The fine is, reportedly, of RWF70 million (USD130,000). The following step has been taken due to the failure of the operator to implement network upgradation and address problems such as dropped calls. The fine will cover the period from November 2007 to April 2008, and MTN defends itself by saying it has since carried out the necessary improvements.
