Telstra to provide improved HSPA service (Australia)
Telstra states that its planned deployment of augmented HSPA on its the Next G mobile network is progressing on schedule. Network infrastructure equipment and mobile device technology has successfully achieved connectivity testing. eHSPA has been designed to improve mobile broadband services and enable a range of applications. The interoperability test was performed on a wireless infrastructure network system from Ericsson using Qualcomm’s MDM8200 chipset system. By the end of 2008, Telstra network will see peak downlink speeds of 21 Mbps.
