Greek regulator imposes a fine of EUR 11 million on OTE (Greece)
The Greek telecom operator OTE has been imposed with a fine of EUR 11 million by the Greek regulator EETT. OTE was fined for it’s failure to fulfil the temporary measures imposed by EETT for the local loop unbundling.
The mobile operator had been asked to meet various requests made by the rival operators making it’s network accessible to them within 5-30 days which it hadn’t yet met. The regulator also restricts on OTE’s All-in-one bundle of services. The operator is allowed to offer the package until May 2009 with no changes in the terms and conditions, and the regulator reserves the right to review the approval after that date or if OTE surpasses 70,000 customers for the plan.
