Omantel-Oman Mobile to merge operations (Oman)
Oman telecommunications Company and Oman mobile said that they have instigated the process to merge their operations as recommended by a high-level ministerial committee.
According to Sultan bin Hamdoun al Harthy, Chairman of both the majority state-owned companies, the merger was aimed at “coping with the next phase in telecommunications growth in the Sultanate”, and improve “performance of both companies.”
He further added that they had begun preparations “to implement an unprecedented programme for restructuring the group and improving the working environment.”
