Brasil Telecom launches trial of mobile TV service in the city of Porto Alegre. The service will be available fully by December’08 which will offer nine channels, i.e., CNN, Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, Discovery Kids, Band, Band News, MTV Brasil, Whoohoo and Sexy TV. Initially, the service will run on Symbian 60 systems, but Java and Linux versions will be available once they are developed. In order to access the service, customers will need to buy minute packages, 30 minutes, 2 hours or 24 hours, with prices varying from BRL 1.90 to BRL 7.90.
