Kenya’s fourth mobile operator Econet Wireless anticipates to launch the ‘yu’ brand name by November end. The slogan to be carried by the operator will be ‘We are yu’ to market its services. The Yu brand will have the tag line ‘It’s the simple things you do’ in its advertising. According to an EWK employee, the company targets 18- to 35-year-olds. The initial roll out will take place in Nairobi and later wil expand to Mombasa before the end of the year. The operator also plans an introduction of mobile phone money transfer platform in conjunction with Opal Pay, which will grow across country by the Q1′09.
