America Movil & Telmex to invest $4Bn for network expansion (Mexico)
Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim reportedly has announced plans to invest almost US$4 billion in 2009 to expand mobile operations across Latin America and fixed line services in Mexico. In a move to expand its network, Telmex, Mexico’s fixed line incumbent is anticipated to spend up to US$950 million in 2009. America Movil, will invest approximately US$3 billion in the year, as it seeks to expand and boost its mobile infrastructure across Latin America.
