Chinese telcos will be spending about $41 billion in 3G technology in the coming next two years. According to the minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Yizhong, China will support the development of core microchips, terminals and testing equipment as it expands network coverage. 3G spending in 2009 is projected at $29.2 billion, with the coming of licence awards.
