VIVA, a recently launched mobile operator in Kuwait, has set its aim to controling 10% of the Kuwaiti mobile market within one year of its launch. Najib Al-Awadhi, Chief Executive, VIVA, has reportedly said that the telco will continue to offer distinguished services such as contacts worth five dinars for the clients who have the pre-paid package, “value” of five dinars, in case they received their lines before Jan 10, 2009, inidcating that the price of the minute would be 38 fils. Subscribers in the value package will be granted three months of contacts, free of charge, in addition to classifying the contacts with Saudi Arabia as local, effective Jan 31, 2009.

He also additionaly said that the category of forward payment for the subscribers would not have to pay the fees for the coming five months, clarifying that this offer is applied on all clients who bought the VIVA line, till Jan 10, 2009. As to the roaming service, he indicated that the subscribers would be accorded with this kind of connections in most states of the world, some 450 countries.

The company also elaborated on the new services it will offer, explaining the amount paid for the Sim card. The subscribers can choose KD 5 and KD 15, which is automatically credited to their account as the connection fees are free. This offer will be available to those who will avail the VIVA Value Package (prepaid lines) before Jan 10, 2009. Additionally, customers who will avail the monthly service package (postpaid line) will pay a connection fee of KD 15 but this will be credited to their account for five months at a monthly subscription fee of KD 3 — an offer that is also valid until Jan 10, in addition to free VIVA to VIVA calls until the aforementioned date.
