Bharti Airtel’s Sri Lankan launch delayed (India, Sri Lanka)

Bharti Airtel’s plans to launch in Sri Lanka have seemed to be delayed as the parent company based in India “has still not granted sanction to start operations”.
“Airtel was looking at launching somewhere on Dec 23, and they said that this is a tentative date as the company still has not got approval from their head office in India for the launch date,” a local report read.
The services are likely to launch next year now, though no confirmed date has been disclosed.
The local media has also reported about an ongoing price war which is likely to aggravate with the coming of Bharti Airtel Lanka.
