The Filipino incumbent Smart Communication is likely to complete the HSPA deployment by Jan’09-end. A local paper quotes Smart wireless adviser Orlando Vea as saying: ‘Within the month, mega-Manila (Metro Manila and surrounding suburbs) and all major cities will be covered. Some areas are already covered like Cebu City.’
The following HSPA is launch is a part of the $50 million investment allocated for 2008 and 2009 in order to provide a faster HSPA network.
