Vodafone’s 3G coverage to reach 97% by 31 May’09 (New Zealand)
Vodafone New Zealand says it is likely to launch its 3G coverage of 97% of the country where New Zealanders “live, work and play” by 31 May’09.
“This means that many people who haven’t had access to fixed broadband can now get mobile broadband, as well as popular 3G features such as mobile internet, full-track music downloads and video calling,” Vodafone’s New Zealand chief executive Russell Stanners said.
The operator’s earlier expansion target was set as June’09. Vodafone’s 3G coverage at present stands at 70% and is intends a full coverage by April’10.
