AgCom fines Italian operators for $3.59Mn
The Italian regulator, AgCom, after a series of investigation aimed at the verification of MNP’s implementation and quality of service provided by the operators, has decided to impose a fine of $3.59 million on the operators in total, for violation of the regulations. Vodafone Italia has been fined for $2.15 million for violation of MNP regulations whereas Telecom Italia will have to pay $688,214 for the violation of consumer protection regulations. Opitel was fined for $446,834 for service activation not requested by subscribers. On the other hand, BT Italia and Eutelia have been fined for $154,097 each as they violated the surcharge regulations.
