www.WirelessFederation.com – The two UK based rival mobile operators, Vodafone and O2, are likely to join hands to share networks in UK. This is reportedly the country’s biggest shakeup after the introduction of wireless broadband in the nation.
The two telcos are in advanced talks and the announcement is due in next few weeks.
In another press report, Vodafone’s current UK partner Orange intends to ask T-Mobile and 3UK, to seek permission for joining the network sharing venture. If this works out then Britain will be having five mobile operators operating on two networks, though the competition in the market will prevail.
This move will reduce the number of base station across the nation leading to cost reduction and in turn lowered tariffs.
