MTS to roll-out BlackBerry services by April-end (Russia)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: MTS will reportedly offer BlackBerry, one of the leading wireless platforms, to individual Russian subscribers by late April. “We will launch it in two weeks,” Mikhail Shamolin, MTS Russia President said.
The incumbent’s contender VimpelCom got licences in February 2008. Subsequent to the approval, MTS launched BlackBerry for corporate subscribers in June 2008.

MTS Spokesperson Irina Osadchaya said, some 500 large corporate subscribers in Russia were currently using BlackBerry.

“We are planning to concentrate on developing BlackBerry service for corporate subscribers,” VimpelCom spokesperson Kseniya Korneyeva said.
