Ectel reduces interconnection fees to XCD 0.36

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority, Ectel, has reduced the interconnection charges applicable among its member states. As part of the three-year phased reduction of mobile termination fees, wholesale rate for MTR will be slashed by 40% in the first year and by up to 60% by 2011.
MTRs have fallen to XCD 0.36 in Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. From 1 April’10, the MTR will range between XCD 0.29 and XCD 0.32, with next reduction scheduled for a year later April’11, MTR reaching to somewhere between XCD 0.22 and XCD 0.28. The maximum rates for SMS termination in Ectel member state will range between XCD 0.032 and XCD 0.048.
