www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Germany subscribers have sent 29.1 billion SMSs during 2008 in comparison to 25.3 billion in 2007, according to the figures by Bitkom. The growth was driven by the introduction of SMS flatrates and bundles as well as the increase of microblogging website like Twitter, according to Bitkom President August-Wilhelm Scheer. It is anticipated that the number will cross 30 billion mark in 2009.
