MetroPCS subscriber base totals 6.05Mn in March-end (USA)
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: MetroPCS has gained 683,700 new subscribers in Q1, facilitated by the launch of operations in New York City and Boston. The telco ended March with a subscriber base of 6.05 million, experiences a rise from 4.41 million a year ago. ARPU fell from USD 42.51 to USD 40.40, although was down only 12 cents from Q4. The price of gaining a new subscriber has grown to USD 134 from USD 125 a year ago. The quarterly revenues has gone to USD 795 million, up 20% and adjusted EBITDA advanced 12% to USD 199 million. Net profit rose to USD 44 million from USD 40 million a year earlier. The telco repeated its full-year guidance for net subscriber additions of 1.4-1.7 million and adjusted EBITDA of USD 900 million to USD 1.1 billion. Capex is assessed at USD 700-900 million, and the firm aims positive free cash flow by late 2009.
