Telenor’s stake in Unitech Wireless reaches 49% (India)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Telenor, the Norwegian mobile operator, has raised its stake to 49% in Unitech Wireless, a new mobile entrant in India. Telenor has made an additional investment of 11.30 billion rupees ($237.3 million) as it purchases further 15.5% stake.
Eight units of Unitech Wireless on Tuesday received the funds for the additional 15.5% stake from Telenor Asia Pte Ltd., the Asian unit of the Norwegian telecom major, Unitech said.
Telenor has also provided Unitech with an additional 2.4 billion rupees to maintain its stake after the Indian firm converted bonds into shares for another shareholder.
