Orange UK’s 3G subscriber base rises by 82% since Q1’08

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Orange UK has posted a modest mobile growth of 0.4% to £1.08bn, while data revenues and 3G saw a surge on 2008. The operator posted a drop of 0.6% in Q1’09 revenues to £1.12bn since Q1’08. The data accounts for 24.8% of revenues, up 3.3% on since 2008.
The operator added nearly 125,000 pay monthly subscribers, taking the total subscriber base to 16.8 million 9 million prepay, 6.6 million pay monthly and 977,000 broadband subscribers. Orange also experienced a 82% growth in its 3G subscriber base since Q1’08, for a total base of 3.8 million. The ARPU for the operator stood at £271 up £3 from Q1’08. Orange’s MVNO subscriber base quadrupled in one year to 585,000, compared with 137,000 in Q1’08.
