www.WirelessFederation.com/news: China Unicom, Vice President Zhang Jun’an, anticipated that the company will have between 20 to 30 million commercial 3G subscribers within one year after commercial launch of WCDMA services, and intends to order a volume of 3G handsets that would more than cover that many subscribers. He also remarked that the firm is in conversation with four Taiwanese telecom operators that use the same WCDMA standard, namely Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone Telecommunications and 3G operator Vibo Telecom to reduce roaming fees.
