LG unleashes GM730 smartphone
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: LG Electronics has revealed its new LG-GM730 smartphone. The device offers a new version of Windows Mobile 6.1, integrated with LG’s 3D S-Class user interface. The S-Class UI eliminates nested menus wherever possible, providing better access to features and applications, and offers a multitasking environment allowing use of different applications simultaneously in separate windows without having to stop one task to start another. The 11.9-mm handset also comes with a 5 megapixel camera, MP3 player, action games and the Map Service, a navigation-based social networking service which enables users to see where their friends are while communicating in real time. The phone is available in black, lime or pale pink colours. The LG-GM730 will be available globally, initially rolling out in Asia this July. LG is also planning to demonstrate the world’s first handset modem chip based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, which it says is nearly 10 times faster than the fastest 3G HSDPA handsets currently available.
