www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Taiwan-based HTC Corp’s U.S. phone unit is reportedly anticipating a 50% increase in handset sales this year, a prediction reflecting the popularity of its Android-powered smartphones. Jason Mackenzie, vice president for HTC America, reportedly said that he expects U.S. sales volume to grow to around 6 million units. HTC will see rising sales despite the economic slowdown and will continue to compete with rivals such as Apple Inc and Research in Motion Ltd, he added. The company is planning to team up with T-Mobile USA to sell a new Android mobile phone in the U.S. starting in August.
