Vodafone launches ‘Passport’ flat rate data roaming tariff (UK)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Vodafone has reportedly introduced its first flat rate data roaming tariffs for mobile phone and 3G dongle subscribers. The roaming tariff dubbed as ‘Passport’ scheme, with a simple pricing structure under which the operator will charge mobile phone surfers £4.99 for up to 25MB of data while laptop dongle users will pay £9.99 for up to 50MB, which means just 20p per megabyte. For those using under 1MB to just do a few basics, the rate will be 50p per 100KB.
Vodafone also said it will be introducing a real time alert for customers as they approach the end of their data allowances in an effort to end the damaging headlines which saw a few much publicised bills hitting tens of thousands of pounds.
