Vodafone Germany posts a 5.6% drop in Q1’09 sales

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Vodafone Germany, has reported a drop of 5.6% in its Q1’09 sales, driven by global economic recession and regulatory decrees. Vodafone Germany also unveiled that its mobile subscriber base dropped in Q1 and sales of EUR2.23 billion for the period, down from EUR2.36 billion a year earlier.
Revenue from mobile and broadband services was down 4.8% at EUR2.16 billion, it added. Vodafone Germany’s mobile subscriber base stood at 34.92 million Q1’09-end, down 375,000 from a year earlier. Vodafone lost 551,000 mobile subscribers in Germany in Q1, mainly due to the termination of pre-paid cards.
