China ends H1’09 with mobile penetration of 52.5%

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: According to the statistics revealed by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the mobile penetration in China has reached 52.5% at the end of H1’09. The maximum net additions were reported in West and Central China. By the end of HQ’09, mobile phone penetration rate was 43.2% in central China and 43.8% in west China, both lower than the average level across the whole country.
Mobile phone penetration rate in east China reached 72%, higher than the country’s average level. However, newly-added mobile phone users in east China declined sharply, compared with the number in the same period of the previous year.
