Vodafone Ghana lays off 950 workers

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Nearly 950 workers will be laid off as a part of Vodafone Ghana’s compulsory redundancy programme. The lay-off to be implemented at the end of November will affect all departments and could also lead to the closure of non-core departments.
Under the programme three month basic salary will be offered for each year served. According to Chief Manager for Corporate Communications, Isaac Abraham, the move is aimed at delivering better services to customers of the company.
He said the decision to lay off staff is part of a restructuring programme to be conducted in a “a fair and transparent manner.”
