Vodafone Germany drops Arcor brand name

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Vodafone Germany has reportedly dropped the Arcor brand from 1 August. The name has been dropped in order to integrate Vodafone Germany and its fixed network subsidiary Arcor, which started in May 2008. Vodafone acquired the remaining 26.4% stake in Arcor from Deutsche Bahn and Deutsche Bank for EUR 474 million in that month. No change will occur on the DSL subscribers front except a different name on the bills. At the same time, Arcor’s internet-by-call and call-by-call users will have to visit www.01070.com instead of Arcor.de.
