HTC sells 1Mn HTC Magic handsets, plans to focus on mid-end smartphones
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: HTC which in April started selling the highly anticipated HTC Magic via Vodafone now reports to have sold 1 million handsets worldwide, fulfilling its plans which CEO Peter Chou had announced.
HTC further revealed that it now wants to shift its focus to mid-end smartphones for the rest of the year. According to Peter Chou, mid-end handsets will account for about 50-60% of the company’s shipments in the second half of 2009.
He further said mid-end smartphones should have a retail price of about $300. Most probably, the Android-powered HTC Click will be among these upcoming devices.
