www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Mobily’s 3.75G High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) coverage now always more and more people in the Western region to connect to the Internet, make video calls, or benefit from the world of iphone content, according to a statement issued by the company Sunday.
Close to the coast, expansion of 3.75G coverage included Rabegh, Turban, Al Khormah, Al Muwaih, Haddad Bani Malek, Al Sudairah, Asfan, Thahban, Thuwal, Bahra, more towards the hills, customers in Al Hada, Bani Saeed, AL Kamel, Al Sail Al Kabeer now have speeds that rival those of customers in major cities. All in all, 3.75G HSPA service reaches 326 cities, regions and areas in the Kingdom, covering 75% of the population.
Abdulaziz Al Tamami, Chief Operating Officer of Mobily, said: ‘We have committed a large volume of our resources towards satisfying the needs of our customers with increased 3.75G coverage, whether they choose to use a connect card, a mobile phone as a modem, access the Internet directly using the iphone, watch satellite television stations, or just make video calls, whether that at home in the Kingdom or abroad.’The focus of coverage expansion in the Western region so far has been sites that have high volumes of tourism traffic and areas, where new commercial projects and businesses are launching to increase their contribution to the Kingdom’s economy.
Mobily has been expanding its 3.75G network aggressively over the past two years and according to accolades from the GSM World Association has the busiest mobile data network on the face of the planet and largest HSPA network in the Middle East.
For customers travelling abroad or making video calls overseas, Mobily has 3G interconnection and roaming agreements with operators in the United States of America, Australia, Canada, Italy, France, Malaysia, Indonesia, Spain, Germany, Egypt, Britain, among other countries.
