www.WirelessFederation.com/news: NTT DoCoMo, the Japanese mobile operator, anticipates that its joint venture with Tata Teleservices (TTSL), in which it has a 26% shareholding, to start contributing to its bottom line within the next three years. The operator also plans to raise its stake in TTSL.
“We are currently satisfied with our 26% stake. But no one knows what the future old. We might increase our stake,” Toshinari Kunieda , senior vice-president and managing director of the global business division at NTT Docomo reportedly said.
The operator is likely to launch some of its customised VAS services into India by the year-end. In fact, DeNa, DoCoMo’s VAS partner, is already planning to enter the Indian market.
Kunieda pointed out that competitors will surely catch up and launch a similar offering and so they have be innovative right through. We need to have a differentiation. Value Added Services will be important for Tata Docomo to provide that differentiation, he added.
