AT&T to upgrade 3G services to the 850MHz band (USA)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: AT&T, the USA based mobile operator, has reportedly announced that it is upgrading its 3G services in the 850MHz frequency band in certain markets across the country, boosting its network coverage and capacity. Mark Siegel, a spokesman for AT&T, said: ‘The 850MHz band is excellent spectrum because it propagates the signal much better. When we deploy it, people really notice significant improvements.’ The company has not identified which markets are involved in the upgrade at the time of writing.
