www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Digicel Pacific Limited is reportedly anticipated to launch its mobile phone service in Solomon Islands by April’10. For the launch to realise, Parliament is this week expected to pass the Telecommunications Bill 2009 to allow for competition in the telecommunications sector in the country before it goes into recess.
The Bill will replace the outdated Telecommunications Act passed 37-years ago which Solomon Telekom Limited is currently operating under.
