www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Telecom Italia’s fixed-line network would not help in developing a new broadband infrastructure for Italy. The view came from head of the company, Franco Bernabe who also said that he does not agree with
an extraordinary financial operation.

Bernabe who has been receiving repeated calls from politicians and a minority shareholder to spin off the network has repeatedly dismissed that as an option, saying Telecom Italia would never relinquish control of the network.

But at the same time he also said that he is willing to consider sharing the investments needed to develop a fiber-optic infrastructure with competitors to improve broadband services in the country.
