O2 and LG launched ‘green mobiles’ in Czech Republic

Under this ‘green’ mission, the mobile users of Czech Republic can now charge their mobile in the sun. A special edition of a mobile phone with a solar panel as an alternative recharger has been launched by Manufacturer LG and operator O2 in the Czech market. LG GD510 or POP is the smallest touch screen mobile device in the market.
LG GD510 is a stylish handset with full touch screen display and PCB 100, a separate rear cover with photovoltaic cells. The set will hit the market in the first weeks of the New Year. 3Mpix. Camera, 3″ TFT WQVGA display, an advanced music player (MP3, AAC, etc.), and video player (e.g. MPEG4) are some other trendy features of the set.
Apart from a solar panel, the set has another green features, too. POP‘s standard charger has a microUSB and as soon as the mobile is fully charged, the phone makes a sound and the screen displays a reminder to unplug the charger.
Besides, the packaging of the handset is made of recycled paper and soy-based colors are used for printing, which is again good for the environment.
