Warid reveals bigger plans with Indian partners
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: After disinvesting majority of its shares in its Africa and Bangladesh operations to Ruias promoted Essar group and Bharti Airtel, the Dhabi Group-owned Warid Telecom has planned to jointly bid for telecom licenses and acquisitions in other markets with its two Indian partners.
According to Bashir Ahmad Tahir, chief executive of Dhabi group, the company is jointly expanding it’s the partnerships to other countries. In Africa, the company has divested a 51% stake in its operations to the Essar group, with whom it plan to bid for licenses in more countries in that continent.
The company is looking at a similar possibility with Bharti Airtel, which has bought a 70% stake in our Bangladesh subsidiary.
