DoCoMo third-quarter income jump 48%

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: 48% rise in the net income rising from JPY91 billion a year ago to JPY134.6 billion has been announced by NTT DoCoMo. Absence of a one-off charge relating to asset write-downs and lower stock valuations last year bolstered the profits for the three months to 31 December 2009.

The telco also announced that the profit targets and full year sales will remain the same. Although revenues dipped 1.3% to JPY1.097 trillion, the operating profit climbed 28% year-on-year to JPY217.4 billion. Pre-tax profit was JPY701.7 billion and net income was JPY419.3 billion.
