Thaicom expects 30% growth in 2010 revenue

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: A 30% growth in the revenue has been expected by Thailand’s sole satellite operator, Thaicom PCL due to its expansion into new markets. The company should start recognizing revenue from the markets in Japan and India where it had signed the agreement from the second quarter.

The company is also aiming to become a high-speed broadband provider in Australia. The firm’s revenue this year could grow as much as 80% to over the THB7.19 billion recorded in 2009 if the deal with the two countries goes according to the plan.

According to the company’s Chief Financial Officer Tanadit Charoenchan, Thaicom is in talks with Thailand’s state-owned telecommunication service provider TOT PCL to offer bandwidth service to support TOT’s 3G operations and it should swing to a net profit this year after posting a net loss of THB471.23 million last year.
