Roshan contracts Arbinet for international voice services (Afghanistan)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Telecom Development Company Afghanistan, more commonly known as Roshan, has been contracted Arbinet Corporation to supply its ‘thexchange marketplace’ to buy and sell international voice communications and ‘PrivateExchange’ to facilitate direct interconnects between it and correspondent carriers and bi-lateral partners.

Roshan will gain access to a platform where more than 1,100 carriers and service providers’ trade, route, manage and settle voice traffic by using theexchange. High quality routes can also be sourced by Roshan allowing it to provide its retail customers with cost-effective international voice services and it can also interconnect directly with corresponding bi-lateral partners over Arbinet’s network.

Routing, billing and settlements will be managed by Arbinet and it will provide any necessary TDM or VoIP protocol conversions. Roshan is Afghanistan’s largest wireless provider by subscribers.
