China Mobile unveils new set of directors

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: A formal board of directors has been set up by ¬China Mobile Communications Corp (CMCC) the state-owned parent company to Hong Kong listed China Mobile Ltd. Chairman of its listed subsidiary, Wang Jianzhou has been named as its chairman.

State Assets Supervision and Administration Commission had ordered earlier that state-owned subsidiaries should set up a board of directors with Chairman and CEO (general manager) roles. Wang will also become party secretary of state-run parent China Mobile Communications Corp, while retaining his posts in the listed firm.

According to CMCC, the new management system is expected to help it protect and increase state-owned assets. Speculations that the company is preparing for a listing on the local stock markets has been further ignited by the move.
