www.WirelessFederation.com/news: According to Sameer Dave, chief technology officer of MTN South Africa, his company is ready to cope with the influx of bandwidth-hungry international football fans later this month for the World Cup 2010.
He added that his company currently has 120 live 21Mbps HSPA+ sites, in addition to in excess of 2,000 3G/HSDPA sites, of which 1,300 are 7.2Mbps and 14.4Mbps enabled. Heavy investment will be continued by MTN in its network in 2010.
It has also planned ZAR4.1 billion (USD535 million) network spend in across the year.
