High competition makes it tough for companies to survive
The South Korean company SK Telecom is on full buoyancy. As the iPhone is delayed in Korea , the company is enjoying its monopoly. All through the last month SK Telecom took approximately 40,000 subscribers away from Korea Telecom(KT).
Last month, KT lost its subscribers to SK Telecom and lost 10,000 to subscribers to LG U+. Finally iPhone 4 is about to show up in the market, it has been reported that the iPhone 4 has technical issues such as their antenna problem so it is not sure how successful the iPhone 4 it would be .Since the Galaxy S has already dominated the smartphone market. If KT fails to promote the iPhone 4, it could be a serious issue as they wont have a back-up plan.
The situation isn’t that good for LG U+, also. It seems like they have a poor line up of smartphones. Even though LG U+ will anticipate the release of the Galaxy U, it still makes it smooth for the company.
