RIM confident on meeting the deadline
RIM has guaranteed Indian authorities that it will meet the deadline given to provide access to encrypted messages run over BlackBerry servers.
In a meeting held with the government officials last month, RIM gave details as to how Indian security forces can monitor its e-mail and an instant messenger service, and is sure that it will meet the most recent deadline to work out a technical solution with Indian carriers. The company has also promised to help the government in cracking other chat services working on its handsets.
The government issued the deadline last week, asking RIM to come up with a solution within three weeks.
