Huawei wins the first deal since Indian govt lifted restriction from Tata Tele for 3G Roll Out
Tata Teleservices has given Huawei a contract to roll out the company’s 3G mobile network.
Huawei will deploy 3G equipment in five of the nine circles for which Tata Tele has acquired spectrum. A deal for the remaining four circles has been awarded to NSN.
According to A G Rao, CTO & president, Enterprise Business, Tata Teleservices Limited, the company will provide superior 3G technology and services to all the esteemed consumers, and to this end, the company are getting the latest LTE-ready technology from their technology partner, Huawei.
TTSL selected Huawei’s 3G technology under the managed services model, which includes the installation of Huawei’s LTE-ready SingleRAN 4G multi-standard radios (MSR).
According to Max Yang, CEO, Huawei India, the company is keen that the Indian telecom industry will also benefit from the latest 3G technology from Huawei. Huawei will ensure a rapid rollout of TTL’s 3G network thus enabling them to not only capitalize on the current broadband 3G demand but also future-proof their investments by making the rollout LTE ready.
The contract is a mark that Indian operators are starting to spend once more on network equipment after a hold on buying foreign telecom gear.
