Hong Kong-based conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa has put 3G mobile operator 3 Italia up for sale, reports UK newspaper The Times. Hutchison is believed to have sent out an information sheet with the aim of attracting potential bidders. Industry sources indicate that the sale could attract interest from Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom and that the move could pave the way for Hutchison to sell 3 UK as well. 3 Italia and 3 UK account for its largest 3G customer bases.
