Sprint Nextel and Rave Offer Special Collegiate Phones
WirelessWeek writes…Sprint Nextel and Rave Wireless have formed a partnership to provide phones pre-loaded with academic applications to students at Park University in Parkville, Mo. Sprint Nextel will offer special calling plans, and the phones will come with Rave applications installed that provide students with course information, class updates and access to school e-mail and the school’s directory. Park University hopes the academic phones will enable its large international student population to more easily obtain wireless phones and connect with the school’s community.
As part of the agreement, Sprint Nextel extended its network on campus to provide coverage to more than 1 million square feet of underground building space. Park University will roll out the program during the fall semester.
