SingTel expresses interest in China Telecom stake

Southeast Asian telecoms company Singapore Telecom (SingTel) is said to be one of five telcos in the hunt for a stake in China Telecom, according to reports from Channel NewsAsia. Other groups said to be interested in China’s largest fixed line operator include Japan’s NTT DoCoMo, France T©l©com, Deutsche Telekom and Verizon Communications of the US. China Telecom is reportedly looking for strategic investors to help it enter the mobile market.
